Militants changing tactics to sneak into India: Army

Asserting that militants are desperate to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir, a top Army commander on Tuesday said that suicide attacks in the border areas are aimed to sneak militants in the state.

General Officer Commanding (GOC), 16 Corps, Lt Gen K H Singh told reporter today that suicide attacks in border areas is a changed trend of militants to sneak into our territory.

He said that 200 to 250 militants are active across the border.

Lt Gen Singh was replying to the militant strategy in the wake of recent suicide attacks by terrorists in Arnia belt of Jammu border and Uri sector of Kashmir border.

The Army officer said that militants are "desperate" to infiltrate and are attacking in groups to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

The General said,"The Army is fully equipped and geared up to tackle any kind of situation along the borders."

All kind of attempts are being made by them (militants) to sabotage the ongoing election process but our alert troops have foiled their nefarious designs, he said.
