New Delhi: On International Women's Day, a woman top cop of Delhi Police made headlines due to her name and an inspiring speech that she gave on the ocassion.

The woman cop's name is Aslam Khan. She is additional DCP-I, North, posted in Delhi.

According to a report in TOI, during an event on women's day, when people noticed her name tag, she said, "I have a man's name as my parents had decided that they would name their child Aslam."

"Luckily or unluckily, a girl was born, but they went with the name Aslam," she added

Thanking her parents, she said that her parents gave her all the opportunities, despite being uneducated themselves.

According to Aslam, her father wanted her to send to Army but she became an IPS officer.

Aslam told girls that it is them who make societies and families and whether they are accepted or not, they have to fight.
