Ahmedabad: Her brother may have become the Prime Minister of India but that has not diminished Vasantiben's love and respect for Narendra Modi.
With just days to go for the festival of Rakshabandhan, Vasantiben is in sorrow as she would not be able to tie Rakhi on her brother's arms.
She lives in Visnagar in Mehsana district of Gujarat and her brother in New Delhi – a distance of 988 kilometres separates them.
In an interview to TV9 Gujarati, Vasantiben said she is pained that she cannot travel the long distance to Delhi due to medical reasons.
When Narendra Modi was CM of Gujarat, she used to travel to Gandhinagar on Rakshabandhan every year. She used to the first to tie Rakhi on Modi's arms.
This year, Vasantiben will send Rakhi to her Narendra Bhai by post.
Though upset about not getting a chance to meet her brother, Vasantiben is happy that he is serving the country.
“I pray to God that he gets strength to serve the country,” she said.
