New Delhi: The nature of conflicts is changing and the forces need to evolve with it, Vice Army Chief Lt Gen Philip Campose said on Friday.

Speaking at a function held to observe UN Peacekeeping Day, the vice Army chief said the entire peacekeepers` fraternity had a singularity of purpose that was aimed at ensuring international peace and security.

"Nature of conflicts are changing at a rapid pace and everyone has to evolve, adjust and modify to suit the requirements of such complexities of time and space," said Lt General Campose.

He also applauded the efforts of the Centre for United Nations Peacekeeping (CUNPK) in this direction and commended its efforts to train officers of Indian and foreign Diaspora.

An official statement said the event was part of the worldwide celebrations undertaken on the day to commemorate the men and women who have contributed towards establishing peace and security in war-torn countries and ravaged societies across the world.

India began its tryst with UN Peacekeeping by providing the Custodian Force in Korea in 1950. The Indian Army is now among the top three contributors to UN missions.
