Nepal Quake: PM Modi chairs high-level meet

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held a crisis management meeting in wake of the massive earthquake which has claimed over 3,800 lives in Nepal.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held a crisis management meeting in wake of the massive earthquake which has claimed over 3,800 lives in Nepal.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar were also present in the meet.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi donated one month`s salary to help with the rescue efforts.

Saturday`s earthquake, which measured 7.9 on the Richter scale, resulted in the deaths of over 3800 people in Nepal, while 72 people were killed in India.

The calamity, one of the worst in over 80 years, was followed by 55 aftershocks.
