New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday filed a chargesheet against underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's close aide Zahid Miyan.

This is the latest development from India's side in the attempt to round up Dawood's aide across the globe.

Earlier, the NIA had approached the Interpol to trace Dawood's aide Javed Patel alias Javed Chikna in Pakistan, arrest him and hand him over to India.

As per the media report, South Africa based Zahid Miyan was part of the team that masterminded the conspiracy to kill several Hindu leaders and also prepared a list of BJP and RSS leader to be targeted.

NIA investigation had revealed that Dawood-led D-company was planning to form a new terror company and the conspiracy was hatched in Karachi and South Africa.

Zahid, a close associate of Javed Chikna, has taken citizenship is South Africa while managing Dawood’s illegal business there and the NIA is left with one option (extradition) only.

Earlier report suggest that Chikna a mastermind behind the conspiracy to kill Hindu leaders who they believed were active during 2002 Gujarat riots. Zahid and Chikna had assigned youngsters, working for D Company in India, to target Hindu leaders and in return they will get good jobs in South Africa along with handsome amount of money.

According to reports, Zahid also coordinated the arrangement of hawala money and prepared a hit list of killing right-wing leaders in India.

Investigators belive that Zahid’s extradition will help them in identifying Dawood Ibrahim’s illegal business spread in South Africa and other countries. Meanwhile a red conrner notice has already been issued against Zahid.
