NIA to file chargesheet against Dawood Ibrahim's henchmen today

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), Saturday, is expected to file a chargesheet against Dawood Ibrahim's D-Company members who tried to plot social unrest to destablise the Narendra Modi government.

The investigating agency would be filing a chargesheet against 10 D-company members who were were assigned the task to "create unrest" and target Rashtiya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders and churches.

Director General of NIA Sharad Kumar said: "The NIA will file chargesheet in an Ahmedabad court against D-Company members who wanted to create unrest in country, tomorrow. The D-company members wanted to create communal tension in the country by targeting religious and RSS leaders."

Reports suggest that the Dawood gang had hatched a plan soon after Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party came to the power after 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

The NIA is likely to name 10 D-Company members, including seven arrested last year - Haji Patel, Mohammad Yunus Shaikh, Abdul Samad, Abid Patel, Mohammad Altaf, Mohsin Khan and Nisar Ahmed.

Javed Chikna and Zahid Miyan will also be named in the chargesheet, however, Dawood would mentioned in the supplementary chargesheet if evidence of his role is established.
