Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is known for clicking selfies, on Tuesday posted a selfie with his "friend" and Australian counterpart Tony Abbott.

Melbourne: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is known for clicking selfies, on Tuesday posted a selfie with his "friend" and Australian counterpart Tony Abbott.

The selfie signed by the two leaders was taken at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) where Abbott hosted a rare reception for Modi, the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Australia in 28 years.

"Thank you Australia! Past few days have been excellent. Sharing some photos from this memorable visit," the Prime Minister tweeted.

"With my friend @TonyAbbottMHR at the MCG," he wrote in the caption.

"Thank you @TonyAbbottMHR for the wonderful dinner at @MCG. Enjoyed being at this iconic ground," he said.
