New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed from Paris for Germany as he commences the second leg of his three-nation tour. Modi's plane will land in the German city of Hannover.

According to reports, business and technology will be the focus of his engagements aimed at attracting participation in the 'Make in India' campaign.

During his first official visit to this country, PM Modi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will jointly inaugurate India's participation as 'partner nation' in the Hannover Fair besides holding in-depth talks with focus on how Germany can work with India in its developmental agenda. PM Modi will also unveil a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Hannover.

Merkel will receive PM Modi when he arrives at the Hannover trade fair grounds today evening and afterwards they will attend the opening ceremony of the annual Hannover Fair, the world's largest show of capital goods and technology.

The two leaders are also scheduled to address the gathering at the Hannover Congress Centre.

Chancellor Merkel will later host a dinner in honour of the PM Modi and his delegation.

Around 120 top executives from India as well as several representatives of Germany's business and industry are expected to join the two leaders for the dinner.

Apart from business engagements, according to Mail Today, PM Modi is expected to meet Surya Bose - the grand nephew of revolutionary leader Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and a prominent businesses.

Surya Bose, also the president of the Indo-German Association in Hamburg, which was founded by his great uncle, has been invited by the Indian embassy to attend a reception in Berlin during Modi's visit. The reception is being organised by the Indian embassy in Berlin's Hotel Adlon on Monday evening.

The development comes a day after Surya's brother and family spokesperson Chandra Kumar Bose had on Friday expressed shock over reported revelations that successive Congress governments had snooped on family members of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose for 20 years after independence.

Chandra Kumar Bose has already demanded that the Narendra Modi-led NDA government should declassify the secret files related to Netaji.

When under house arrest by the British, Netaji had escaped from India in 1941 to seek international support for the freedom struggle. After organising the Indian National Army with Japanese help to wage a war against the British, he had gone missing in 1945 and was believed to have died in a plane crash.

The Mukherjee Commission had, however, rejected the theory that Bose was killed in the crash in Taiwan on August 18, 1945.
