New Delhi: The Parliament finally saw a debate on Lalit Modi issue with Congress and BJP trading charges and counter-charges.

The country saw a combative External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj showing the mirror to Congress president and VP, Sonia and Rahul, when she raked up the issue of Bofors scam and the Bhopal gas tragedy.

At the same time she also advised Rahul to study the Gandhi family history the next time he took a break.

The EAM then told Rahul to ask his “mamma” as to “how much money had been taken from Quattrocchi” and “why did 'daddy' (Rajiv Gandhi) get released the killer of 15,000 people (in Bhopal gas leak),” an apparent reference to Anderson.

Responding to Sushma's defence, Rahul on his part repeated his charge that the EAM's family had received money from former IPL chief Lalit Modi.

And in response to the ''mamma” comment, the Congress VP said that Swaraj had asked him yesterday asked as to why he was angry with her.

"Yesterday, Sushma ji held my hand and said Beta (son), why are you upset with me? What did I do? I said I respect you and looked you in the eye and said I am speaking the truth. You looked down," Gandhi said in Lok Sabha.

He also countered her by commenting that Swaraj would be the "first humanitarian who does humanitarian work secretly."

Rahul also took on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and questioned his silence over the contentious issue.

“PM Modi had said that he will not let corruption happen (na khaunga na khaane dunga). But PM doesn't have the guts to sit here and face our questions,” Rahul said, adding, “Modi ji has three new monkeys – Don't see the truth, don't hear the truth, don't speak the truth.”

At the same time, Rahul called Lalit Modi a symbol of black money.
