PM Modi greets Shinzo Abe on 'resounding victory', talks about 'India-Japan relations'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked to his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on Wednesday and “congratulated him on the resounding victory” in the recent elections.



Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked to his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on Wednesday and “congratulated him on the resounding victory” in the recent elections.

He also told Abe that the results would “give new momentum to Japan's economy”.

PM Modi posted about his talk with Abe on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

“We talked about India-Japan relations and agreed to continue expanding our cooperation in various fields,” he wrote.

On his part, Abe thanked PM Modi for the call and warmly recalled his visit to Japan earlier this year besides their meetings in Myanmar and Australia in November, as per PTI.

He reiterated his belief in the enormous potential of India-Japan relations and reaffirmed his strong commitment to work with PM Modi to further strengthen the strategic partnership.
