New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday denied that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Srinagar for Eid, a day after news reports on his likely visit surfaced.
“We have no information of PM Modi visiting Srinagar on Eid. The information has been denied at both party and state levels,” Jitendra Singh, MoS, PMO told ANI.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Srikant Sharma was quoted by ANI, “The news of PM Modi going to Kashmir for Eid is false. There is no such program.”
News reports had yesterday claimed that PM Modi is likely to host an Iftar party in Srinagar on July 17.
Reports had stated that Modi will visit Jammu on July 17 to attend a function to mark the 100th birth anniversary of former MP and minister Girdhari Lal Dogra and go to Srinagar on the same day, sources said.
