Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the people of Jharkhand on the occasion of the state's foundation day.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the people of Jharkhand on the occasion of the state's foundation day.

He also extended his best wishes to the people of the State through his official Twitter handle.

Jharkhand was carved out of the southern part of Bihar on November 15, 2000.

It shares its border with Bihar to the north, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to the west, Odisha to the south, and West Bengal to the east.

The State will go for a five-phased Assembly elections beginning November 25.
