PM Narendra Modi hails BJP workers in J&K, Jharkhand on Assembly poll results

Elated over Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) outstanding performance in Jammu & Kashmir​ and Jharkhand Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed party workers, saying the results of polls in these states were an outcome of their hard work and selfless dedication.

New Delhi: Elated over Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) outstanding performance in Jammu & Kashmir​ and Jharkhand Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed party workers, saying the results of polls in these states were an outcome of their hard work and selfless dedication.

"Record turnout in J&K polls showed people's faith in democracy. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for placing their confidence in BJP," the PM wrote on Twitter. 

In an another tweet PM Modi wrote, “People of Jharkhand have voted for stability, which is essential to realise true potential of state.”

“My congratulations to the BJP Karyakartas of Jharkhand and J&K. The results are the outcome of their hard work & selfless dedication,” he added.

Jammu and Kashmir had registered its highest voter turn-out in assembly elections in the last 25 years on Saturday. The Election Commission had announced that while the turnout was average 76%, the overall polling percentage in the state in all phases was 65.5%.

Whereas, Jharkhand broke all previous polling records to witness over 66% of turn-out in the five phases.

The Election Commission the elections as historic as the people participated with great enthusiasm and thanked election officials, media, political parties and candidates for extending their co-operation in peacefully conducting the polls.
