New Delhi: Naxals are planning to target the rallies addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the man who urges them to drop their guns and participate in nation-building.

According to intelligence sources, Naxals are preparing videos of Modi's rallies in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh to study the security deployment of the PM.

Agencies believe that the aim of making videos is to target Modi's rallies.

Last month, Modi had asked Naxals to drop guns, stressing that violence has no place in the country of Gautam Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi.

Earlier also, some reports had claimed that the Naxals in collusion with the outlawed Indian Mujahideen terror group may target the PM.

A report last month had claimed that the extremists could plant mines on the corridor where the PM is expected to travel to reach rally venues in Jharkhand.

The first phase of polling in Jharkhand took place on November 25 and the rest of the four phases will be held till December 20.

Counting will take place on December 23.
