Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan on Tuesday welcomed the Aam Aadmi Party's support against the detention of former party leader Yogendra Yadav by the Delhi Police.

New Delhi: Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan on Tuesday welcomed the Aam Aadmi Party's support against the detention of former party leader Yogendra Yadav by the Delhi Police.

"We welcome AAP's as well as any other political party's support which is agitated about the manner in which peaceful protest of farmers is being throttled," said Bhushan.

The AAP will be raising the issue of Yogendra Yadav's detention in the Parliament today.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal earlier condemned the treatment meted out to Yadav by the city Police saying it is the latter's fundamental right to protest peacefully.

The ex-AAP leader was detained by the Delhi Police during a farmers' protest at Jantar Mantar last night.

Yadav, who was trying to march towards the Prime Minister's official 7 Race Course Road residence, has alleged that he was "brutally assaulted".
