Qatar Emir accorded Guard of Honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan
Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, who is on a two-day India visit, is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday.
New Delhi: Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani was accorded a ceremonial reception and a Guard of Honour at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday.
National anthems of both nations were also played to welcome the Emir.
Among the personages present to receive the Qatari Emir were President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affair Minister Sushma Swaraj, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Colonel (Retd.) Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and Chief of Naval Staff RK Dhowan, along with several other dignitaries.
The Emir arrived in the national capital at the Palam Air Force Base on Tuesday, where he was received by Colonel Rathore, Qatar Ambassador to India Ahmed Ibrahim al-Abdullah and India Ambassador to Qatar Sanjeev Arora, along with several other senior officials.
According to reports, the Emir is accompanied by a high-level delegation of Qatari Ministers, as well as captains of industry.
