Raje row: Congress demands clarification from PM Modi

Hyderabad: Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come clean on the fracas involving former IPL chief Lalit Modi and Rajasthan Chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

"All this shows everything isn`t good in BJP, they are saying something to people, doing something else. The Prime Minister should open his mouth and state what the truth is, when he goes abroad he has a lot to say, what happened now?" Kharge said.

Earlier in the day, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had also questioned the Prime Minister`s silence over the Lalit Modi-Vasundhara Raje row, asking why he had not addressed the people of the country over the issue till now.

The opposition parties have been mounting pressure on the BJP to sack Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje from her post.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), however, has said that there is no concrete evidence of corruption against her.

Raje, meanwhile, attended the NITI Aayog meet in the national capital today.
