New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday held high-level intelligence meeting with senior officials to discuss the internal security of the country after instances of repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan and the recent Pakistani "terror boat" incident.

The meeting, termed a "routine meet" by a home ministry official, assumes significance against the backdrop of heavy firing on the international border with Pakistan and the `terror boat` incident in Indian waters.

"There is nothing new in it. It`s a routine feature. The home minister met officials concerned and that`s it," the ministry official told IANS.

Among senior officials present in the meeting at Home Ministry includes National Security Adviser and the chiefs of Intelligence Bureau and RAW.

The meeting was held shortly after the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar rejected suggesstions that those on board the Pakistani boat, that was intercepted by the Coast Guard off Gujarat's coast, were smugglers and not suspected terrorists.

Even reports of presence of JuD chief Hafiz Saeed along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir has forced the Home Ministry to review the security situation.

Fresh incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistani Rangers was reported in Hiranagar sector along Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir today.

The firing, which took place for four hours, started at 11 pm on Sunday night and continued till 3 am on Monday morning.
