New Delhi; Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien on Monday dubbed Bollywood-turned actress and Samajwadi Party member Jaya Bachchan's behaviour as "irresponsible" when she sought more time for a Shiv Sena member speaking on the agrarian crisis while sitting.
"How can you say that ....It is irresponsible. I have to manage time. There are other members... We have to take up two bills after the discussion on agrarian crisis," a visibly agitated Kurien remarked.
The remark followed Jaya's request to give more time to Shiv Sena member Sanjay Raut as he was making some very good points.
Kurien had earlier told Raut to wind up as he had spoken beyond his allotted time.
Peeved by Chair's reaction, Bachchan while sitting on her seat protested, "This is not the way to speak. You cannot say irresponsible. You please expunge the word irresponsible..," she said, even as Raut continued to speak for two minutes before he concluded his speech on the issue.
