Reshuffle in key posts in Ministry of Home Affairs

There are around 22 Joint Secretaries in the Home Ministry in addition to five Additional Secretaries and three Secretary -level officers. 

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry on Tuesday effected a reshuffle of officials in key positions, including those handling the crucial Left-Wing Extremism, Centre-State and Union Territory divisions.

While 1991-batch Bihar cadre IPS officer Praveen Vashista was appointed as Joint Secretary in the Left-Wing Extremism department, Kumar Alok, a 1990-batch IAS officer of Tripura cadre, will be the new Joint Secretary of Police-I division.

Dilip Kumar, a 1995-batch Punjab cadre IAS officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Centre-State division. Hitesh Makwana, a 1995-batch IAS officer of Tamil
Nadu cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Union Territory division.

Mukesh Mittal, a 1987-batch Indian Revenue Service officer who was handling the LWE division, has been shifted to the Internal Security-II division.
