New Delhi: Union Minister Uma Bharti on Wednesday said that it will take three years to implement and see the results of the clean Ganga campaign.
“It will take three years to properly implement and see the effective results after the implementation of measures for the clean Ganga campaign,” Bharti told ANI.
The Minister of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation added that it will take around another 10-12 years to ensure that the measures implemented in the coming three years are sustained.
Bharti had earlier made a commitment that the India's longest river will be cleaned in the next three years.
As part of her initiative to rejuvenate river Ganga, afforestation on the banks of the river are also being planned.
