Two days after a farmer from Rajasthan hanged himself from a tree in full public gaze at an AAP rally in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Friday apologised for not calling off the event and admitted that his making a speech was a "mistake".

  • Meanwhile, Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi has said that they will also conduct a probe into any laxity shown by the police during the incident. The probe will be conducted by Joint CP, he said.
  • The police has told the DM that he has no jurisdiction to seek report in the matter as this is a criminal case. The report can only be given to a judicial magistrate, the police is reported to have told the New Delhi DM.
  • The Delhi Police has sent another reply to the District Magistrate, New Delhi, who had sought a report from the cops on the probe into farmer Gajendra Singh's suicide case.
  • Meanwhile, security has been tightened outside Gajendra Singh's residence in Dausa.
