Russia Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu calls on PM Modi

Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital.

New Delhi: Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital.

According to reports, the talks between the two leaders were a continuation of the bilateral discussions between the Prime Minister and Russian President Vladimir Putin during his New Delhi visit in December.

Russian media reports have further stated that Shoigu is in India to discuss the implementation of the joint project of a fifth generation fighter jet, along with the possibility of leasing out of another nuclear-powered submarine to India.

During his visit, Shoigu is also scheduled to meet Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
