Moradabad: In a setback to Congress, an FIR has been filed against its 250 party workers.
The FIR was filed against these 250 Congress workers for participating in Rahul Gandhi's roadshow, despite being denied permission by Moradabad district administration.
The Moradabad police booked six district Congress office-bearers too including district Congress chief for alleged violation of Section 144 (prohibition of assembly of more than five persons) of the CrPC.
Despite no permission by authorities, they went ahead with Rahul Gandhi's roadshow.
Rahul Gandhi is on a 2,500km `Kisan Yatra` across UP. He will cover 223 of the 403 assembly constituencies.
SP (city) Ram Suresh Yadav told media, "The expenditure incurred on providing security during the roadshow will also be recovered from the Congress leaders named in the FIR," according to a report in TOI.
