Dehradun: Shaktiman - the unfortunate horse who fell victim to the dirty politics – is recuperating slowly, but without proper medical care.

Ever since the spotlight from his miseries shifted elsewhere, the poor horse seem to have been left to its own fate.

As per a report in Hindustan Times, the horse is being treated in an open shed where mosquitoes and flies hover around his wound.

The dearth of veterinary hospital in Dehradun has left the horse with no choice, but to chase away the disease-inflicting flies and mosquitoes with its tail.

The veterinaries in the region believe that the infection through mosquitoes and flies can cause serious danger to the animal's health.

“Shaktiman’s treatment in the open can invite major risks. But we don’t have a hospital to provide proper medical care,” Dehradun district chief veterinary officer Dr Rakesh Negi was quoted as saying by HT.

Shaktiman's hind leg was brutally fractured after the horse was allegedly attacked by BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi during a protest in Dehradun. It was serving the police force for the last ten years.
