Sheena Bora knew her marriage would expose Indrani Mukerjea's lie: Witness

Sheena Bora had told a childhood friend of hers that her marriage to media baron Peter Mukerjea's son Rahul would have exposed her mother Indrani's lie that Sheena was her sister, the latest charge sheet filed by CBI says.

Mumbai: Sheena Bora had told a childhood friend of hers that her marriage to media baron Peter Mukerjea's son Rahul would have exposed her mother Indrani's lie that Sheena was her sister, the latest charge sheet filed by CBI says.

"Sheena's marriage with Rahul would have led to the people in (their) Mumbai circle knowing that she was daughter of Indrani and not sister which would seriously affect the status of Indrani," says Sanjana Raktim, her friend, as per the second charge sheet in Sheena murder case.

Indrani is the prime accused in the Sheena murder case.

In an email sent to her on October 26, 2009, Sheena said, "I am not in touch with my mother. She can't change. I have understood that....She has never made any efforts to make things better between us after all the Delhi incident and is again trying to get me chucked out of my job....I cannot forgive her."

CBI filed the second charge sheet on February 16 following Peter's arrest in the case in November.

In 2002, Sheena had showed Raktim a newspaper clipping with photograph of Indrani and Peter. It was about the couple's marriage.

"Sheena started crying and said she and Mikhail were aware that Indrani is their mother," Raktim told CBI. Indrani used to tell people that they were her siblings.

Raktim said Sheena told her and her husband about her affair with Rahul in 2010, and also about Indrani's strong opposition to it.

On June 22, 2009, Sheena sent her email informing that she was in hospital in Delhi because Indrani gave her wrong medication. "Bahut natak hua, Phone mere pass nahin hai, milungi to bataungi (A lot happened, I don't have my phone, will talk when we will meet)," she said.
