New Delhi: A day after Indrani Mukerjea, reportedly "confessed" to her role in the Sheena Bora murder case, her former live-in partner Siddharth Das' DNA samples will be sent to forensic lab, to ascertain his claims that he is the biological father of the deceased and Mikhail.

Three days ago, Das surfaced in Kolkata and said Indrani and he were in live-in relationship. He claimed Indrani left him in 1989 without giving him any reason and since then he had not been in touch with her.

Indrani has "confessed" to her role in the crime, a senior police officer said on Thursday without providing further details.

Sheena was killed on April 24, 2012, and her body was found by Raigad police on May 23, 2012. So far, Mumbai police has arrested Indrani, her driver Shyam Rai and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, whom she had married in 1993 and consequently divorced. Indrani's current husband is former media baron Peter Mukerjea.

Former Star India CEO and Indrani's husband Peter Mukherjea, was questioned for the second consecutive day on Thursday, mainly on the financial and property aspects, details of which are being kept under wraps for the present.

Sheena was engaged to Rahul, Peter's son from an earlier marriage, when she was allegedly murdered.

Presently, Indrani, Khanna and Rai are on extended police custody till September 5.

Police are also awaiting the DNA tests and forensic reports of the purported remains of Sheena's body recovered from Raigad last Friday which could be a major clincher.
