Sonia Gandhi greets people on Eid, Navakalebar Rath Yatra

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday greeted the people on the occasion of Navakalebar Rath Yatra and Eid-ul-Fitr.



New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday greeted the people on the occasion of Navakalebar Rath Yatra and Eid-ul-Fitr.

Extending her greetings on the occasion of Navakalebar Rath Yatra, Gandhi said she hoped "Bhagwan Jagannath`s blessings will bring peace, progress and prosperity to all of us".

The new millennium`s first Nabakalebar Rath Yatra which commenced from the Puri temple in Odisha on Saturday will conclude at Shree Gundicha temple, covering a distance of nearly 2.5 km, in nine days. The yatra will conclude on July 29.

In her message, the Congress chief said: "Coming after a month of fasting and purification during Ramadan, this joyous festival (Eid-ul-Fitr) will foster the spirit of brotherhood, mutual cohabitation and peace."
