Varanasi: Rumbling of train engines took Narendra Modi down the memory lane as he recalled his childhood days as a tea seller at railway platform in an emotional entry in the visitor's book of Diesel Locomotive Works guesthouse here.
Modi jotted down the nostalgic feelings, which were evoked during his night stay at the guest house, in the visitor's book.
"Since childhood, I was associated with trains, railway stations and compartments.
"I am staying at this DLW premises since yesterday and its surrounding has reminded me of my childhood," Modi wrote.
"For the first time, all the memories-- those compartments, trains, passengers-- became alive. Those memories are very emotional."
The Prime Minister also thanked people and called them 'karmyogi' (hard working).
Modi said that he will continue visiting the place "again and again", while carrying all the memories of his childhood.
He prayed that the love and blessings of Mother Ganga purify the thinking of countrymen.
As a child, Modi had helped his father sell tea to passengers in the small Vadnagar station in Gujarat.
