'Swachh Bharat Run' organised at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi: A `Swachh Bharat Run` was organised at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday.

"The Rashtrapati Bhavan woke up this morning to a `Swachh Bharat Run`. The run in which around 1,500 people participated was flagged off by President Pranab Mukherjee," a statement from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.

The statement added that the President also joined the participants for a brief stretch.

Participants in the run included officers and staff of the secretariat, the President`s Body Guard and Delhi Police, as well as their families.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on October 02 launched the `Swachh Bharat Abhiyan`, a nation-wide campaign which seeks to clean up the country in five years.
