Kolkata: A top Trinamool Congress leader on Tuesday said the party has not received any notice from CBI seeking details of its accounts.
"We have not received such a notice. We will respond when we receive it (from CBI)," Trinamool Congress secretary-general and state's Education Minister Partha Chatterjee told reporters on the sidelines of a programme at Suri in Birbhum district.
Chatterjee was responding to a query on reports that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's party has been asked by CBI for details of its income between 2010 and 2014 from the sale of paintings, donations and advertisements.
Mamata Banerjee had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday for the first time since he assumed power nearly ten months ago to seek a debt waiver and other financial support.
The Left has accused her of trying to shield her party from CBI probe.
The Chief Minister had recently accused the central government of using CBI to target her party leaders and frame them in the multi-crore rupee ponzi scam involving the Saradha group.
