Kolkata: Ambia and Sambia Sohrab , the two sons of the Trinamool Congress leader Md Sohrab were heavily drunk at the time of the accident which killed an Indian Air Force Corporal at Red Road area in Kolkata on Wednesday morning.

Quoting sources, a report in the Hindustan Times claims that Ambia, Sambia along with two others partied at a pub on Central Avenue till 9 pm on January 12. After which all of them went to a prominent club on Kona Expressway where their cellphones were switched off at around midnight.

A police officer told that in all probability all of them were at the club all night and were returning home when they knocked down the 21-year-old Coporal Abhimanyu Gaud during a rehearsal of the Republic Day parade.

Amid reports that the Sohrab siblings might have escaped abroad, to China in most probability, police have so far failed to make any arrest in the case. Sambia has an office and a home in China as he oversees exports of Chinese fruits to Bangladesh from here.

Gaud, an IAF Corporal, posted at Kolkata, was overseeing a Republic Day parade rehearsal when he was knocked down by a high-speeding Audi Q7 SUV on Wednesday morning.

The car supposedly dragged Gaud more than 20 m after hitting him and he died due to excessive blood loss.
