Gurgaon: In another horrific incident which could spell more trouble for Uber, a female passenger has accused one of the drivers registered with the US-based cab service provider of molesting her during a ride to Gurgaon.

In an exclusive conservation with Zee Media, the victim said she boarded the Uber cab at around 9.30 pm near Subhash Nagar Pacific mall (in Gurgaon). She had booked the cab for Suncity.

On the way, the driver discussed with the victim about his family. He also told her that he wanted to see his children receive good education. Claiming that he respected women, the driver discussed with the victim last year's incident in which a Uber driver raped a female passenger in north Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla.

Uber cab driver Vinod, meanwhile, told the victim that she looked good. To this, the female passenger chose not to react and showed as if she did not listen.

“When I got down from the car, he passed on two of my three bags. When I asked for the third bag, he held me and kissed me. When I tried to push him back, he also molested me,” said the victim.

The woman further fled from the spot and registered a complaint with Uber through the same application she used for booking the cab. She received an e-mail from Uber, which read like a routine format and lacked a personalised touch.

The victim's friend took her to a nearby police station in Gurgaon and registered a complaint.

The woman got panicked on Monday when she received a call from the accused driver, who complained that because of her "he had lost his job”.

When the victim shared the incident with her brother on Sunday, he attached a copy of her complaint made to Uber on social networking site Facebook along with the company's reply.

When contacted through an e-mail to 'media queries' on their website, Uber said it was an "alleged" incident and the facts had not yet been finally established.

The company has, however, suspended the driver. However, it seems it has not learnt anything from the past incident.

In December, a 25-year-old Delhi based woman, who works in a finance company in Gurgaon, was raped by a Uber cab driver in north Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla. The driver is in judicial custody facing trial.
