New Delhi: Trust the Narendra Modi to come out with simple answers to tackle complex problems.
The latest initiative is to 'employ' thousands of beggars who travel on trains across the length and breadth of the country singing their way to a few morsels of food at the end of the day.
As per a report in the Economic Times, the government is planning to train over 3000 such men and women. 'Tum to Tehre Pardesi' will make way for a jingle sensitising the public on the virtues of 'Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao'.
The project is a brainchild of the ministry of information and broadcasting and is being rolled out under the supervision of the Song and Drama Division and All India Radio, the report adds.
A pilot project would be launched in Mumbai suburban services this month and later expanded to other parts of the country.
More than the government’s novel attempt to spread the message on important social causes, the project is path-breaking in its approach to change the life of those on the real margins of society.
