Delhi: On the day that BJP-led NDA government completed two years in power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated that he was the 'pradhan sewak' and not the 'pradhan mantri' and promised to  relentlessly serve 1.25 billion people of India and fulfill their dreams.

PM Modi, who was addressing a rally in Saharanpur to mark two years of the BJP-led NDA regime, also said that elections come and go, but governments are there to fulfill the dreams of the people.

Narendra Modi assumed office two years ago on May 26, 2014 after he had led BJP to its best results ever in the General Elections on May 16, 2014.

The BJP won 282 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats and became the first party to get majority on its own since 1984. Together with its allies it crossed the 300 mark winning 336 seats.

It was also the first time ever in India that a non-Congress party has won a simple majority on its own.

Narendra Modi took oath as the 15th Prime Minister of India at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the presence of a galaxy of dignitaries including heads of SAARC countries like Pakistan’s Nawaz Sharif, Sri Lanka’s Mahinda Rajapaksa and Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai.
