New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Meenakshi Lekhi on Saturday asked why the government must worry about defence personnel who leave the services early by choice.
"There are some demands that are unjustified and can`t be fulfilled. If a person (defence personnel) leaves the service in the middle, he has to bear his own burden. Why should the government worry about such a person," said Lekhi.
She also appreciated the NDA Government for their decision on the OROP.
"I am really happy and pleased with this decision. This decision has been pending from so long, and no government till date had bothered. In fact they kept curtailing the amount from 70 percent to 30 percent. Finally, the government run by Modi and Parrikar took the final call. The PM has shown the courage and might the nation possesses," Lekhi added.
The NDA Government made an announcement regarding the acceptance of the OROP today. But, they accepted only one out of the six points put forward by the protesting war veterans.
