Yemen airstrike: Hope govt will do needful to bring Indians back, says Congress

Condemning the horrific incident of where at least 20 Indian nationals were killed in air strikes on fuel smugglers at a Yemeni port on Tuesday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi in a statement that she hoped that the Indian government will do the needful in evacuating Indians from Yemen.



New Delhi: Condemning the horrific incident of where at least 20 Indian nationals were killed in air strikes on fuel smugglers at a Yemeni port on Tuesday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi in a statement that she hoped that the Indian government will do the needful in evacuating Indians from Yemen.

"Congress President Sonia Gandhi expressed shock and deep anguish at killing of Indians in Air Strike, reportedly by Saudi Arabia led alliance in Yemen. Condemning the attack, Sonia Gandhi hoped Government of India is taking ample and adequate measures to ensure immediate & emergency relief," the Congress said in a statement.

The party further added that they expected the Centre will do the needful in evacuating Indian citizens from the strife zone.

Around 20 Indians were killed in airstrikes on fuel smugglers by Saudi Arabia-led forces at Hodeidah Port in Yemen on Tuesday.The incident took place at al-Khokha near Hodeidah Port when two boats were hit in airstrikes.
