Jammu: The 41st batch of pilgrims comprising
154 people on Tuesday left for the Amarnath yatra from here amid
tight security, police said.
As many as 79 men, 30 women and 45 seers left from the
Bhagwati Nagar base camp here early this morning in a
cavalcade of six vehicles for the 13,500 feet-high cave shrine
situated in the Himalayas in south Kashmir.
With today`s batch, as many as 79,030 pilgrims have left
this region in 41 batches for their onward journey to the holy
Meanwhile, the sixth batch consisting 138 pilgrims today
left from here to the Buddha Amarnath shrine in Mandi tehsil
of Poonch district.
The batch comprising 129 men and nine women left in a
fleet of four vehicles from the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar
around 0530 hours, the police said.
