Jammu: Cracking down on the industrial units
for high degree of pollution in Jammu and Kashmir, Pollution
Control Board (PCB) has sealed 17 small and medium factories
for the violations in the state.

The PCB had issued notices under Pollution Control Act to
the 17 industrial units and asked them to install pollution
devices, PCB officials said.

As they ignored the repeated directions, PCB sealed these
units in violation of pollution norms in Jammu and Samba
districts of the state.

PCB has called upon all the units to install the
Pollution Control Devices (PCDs) immediately and those found
violating the norms will be sealed, as the Government is very
serious over the issue.
