Srinagar: A 19-year-old girl died under
mysterious circumstances in the Kashmir Valley on Wednesday, police
said.
Nazia Manzoor, a resident of Takanwari locality of
Safakadal, was declared brought dead at SMHS hospital here,
they said.
The police said proceedings under section 174 CrPC
(unnatural/suspicious death) have been initiated as the death
of the girl seemed to be suspicious.
In a separate incident, the police said, another young
girl attempted suicide by slitting her throat with a
sharp-edged weapon at her Medoora-Tral residence in Pulwama
district of south Kashmir.
The girl was admitted in SMHS hospital and her condition
was stated to be critical, the police said, adding that a case
has been registered and investigations began.
