Srinagar: Security forces arrested two
Hizbul Mujahideen militants, smashed two ultra hideouts and
seized a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives in
Kashmir Valley on Sunday.
HM militants Fayaz Ahmad Bhat and Manzoor Ahmad Ammnar
were arrested by a joint team of police and Rashtriya Rifles
at Sheikhpora-Hajibal, 55 kms from here, in North Kashmir's
Baramulla district, a police spokesman said.
He said two pistols, two magazines, 12 rounds and two
hand grenades were recovered from the arrested militants.
Security forces busted a militant hideout at Ahlen Behak
near Kokernag, 70 kms from here, in Anantnag district, the
spokesman said.
A rocket launcher, three rocket boosters, two under
barrel grenade launchers (UBGLs), two hand grenades, five UBGL
rounds, 64 AK rounds, four AK magazines and a mortar shell
were recovered from the hideout.
Security forces smashed another militant hideout in
Simthan Forest area in Bijbehara, 45-km from here, in Anantnag
district and seized arms and ammunition.
The seizure included two RPG rockets, three IEDs, three
radio remote control devices, 45 detonators, two RPG boosters,
a high explosive grenade, a rifle grenade and 516 AK rounds,
the spokesman said.
