2 security men injured in encounter with militants in Poonch

Jammu: 2 security personnel have been
injured in an encounter with militants in Poonch district of
Jammu and Kashmir, sources said Tuesday.

Acting on a tip off about the presence of a group of
militants in Sanie-Top area of Surankote tehsil, troops and
police launched a cordon and search operation last night,
sources said.

Militants fired on the troops during the operation,
resulting in an encounter in which two security persons,
including a Special Police official, were injured, they said
adding that the rebels managed to escape.
