J&K govt said 2011 was a year of public empowerment with remarkable progress on all fronts.

Jammu: A day after Chief Minister Omar
Abdullah termed the previous year as one of the most peaceful
ones in recent times, the state government on Sunday said 2011 was
a year of public empowerment with remarkable progress on all
fronts.

2011 was a year of public empowerment, an official
spokesman said adding progress on several fronts, including
restoration of peace and checking of corruption, was
significant.

Enactment of the Public Service Guarantee Act and the
successful conduct of Panchayat polls after a gap of 30 years
were big steps towards achieving target of good governance,
he said.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah yesterday said 2011 was
one of the most peaceful years in the state and had thanked
people for this.
