2,025 pilgrims leave for Amarnath from Jammu

Amid tight security, 2,025 pilgrims Monday left the Jammu base camp for the 13,500-feet high cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas.

Jammu: Amid tight security, 2,025 pilgrims Monday left the Jammu base camp for the 13,500-feet high cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas.

The pilgrims, including 337 women and 37 children, left in a cavalcade of 71 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 0505 hours for Amarnath, police said.

With today`s batch, as many as 57,500 pilgrims have left Jammu in 19 batches for their onward journey to the cave shrine.
