3,280 pilgrims leave for Amarnath from Jammu

Amid tight security arrangements, the 12th batch of 3,280 pilgrims on Monday left the Jammu base camp for 13,500-feet high cave shrine of Amarnath.

Jammu: Amid tight security arrangements, the 12th batch of 3,280 pilgrims on Monday left the Jammu base camp for 13,500-feet high cave shrine of Amarnath.
The pilgrims, including 808 women, 76 children, left in a cavalcade of 131 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 0500 hours for Amarnath, police said.
With today`s batch, as many as 40,074 pilgrims have left Jammu in 12 batches for their onward journey to the cave shrine.
