Accession Day celebrated in J&K

Asserting that the accession of Jammu and Kashmir with India is full and final, political parties and social organisations celebrated `Accession day`.

Jammu: Asserting that the accession of Jammu
and Kashmir with India is full and final, political parties
and social organisations on Friday celebrated `Accession day`.

A function was organised on the occasion at Rajinderpura
(Bagoona) -- the ancestral village of Brig Rajinder Singh,
where Congress MP Madan Lal Sharma paid rich tributes to Singh
and said he was "instrumental in the accession" and laid
wreath on his memorial.

The accession of Jammu and Kashmir with India is final, he
said.

BJP also held a function in Purani Mandi area of the city
on the 65th Accession Day of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union
of India. "The accession is full has final," party chief whip
and MLA, Ashok Khajuria said.

Duggar Vikas Manch organised a function at Mubarakh Madi
Complex, the seat of power of erstwhile Dogra Kings in Jammu.

"A few years back, our organisation started to celebrate
this day as a festival and now many organisations have
realised the importance of this day," Dineshwar Singh Jamwal,
convener of the forum, said.

The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party (Nationalist) also
celebrated Accession Day at a function at Mubarak Mandi.
