Ahead of Hurriyat rally, authorities to impose curfew

Authorities Thursday decided to impose curfew in five police station areas in Srinagar city in view of the proposed rally by the hardline Hurriyat Conference at Eidgah tomorrow.

impose curfew in five police station areas in Srinagar city in
view of the proposed rally by the hardline Hurriyat Conference
at Eidgah tomorrow.

The curfew will be imposed from daybreak tomorrow in
Rainawari, Nowhatta, Khanyar, Safakadal, Maharajganj police
station areas in the city, official sources said.
The decision to impose curfew was taken in view of the
rally planned by harline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani
at Eidgah graveyard where youths killed during the 20 years of
militancy are buried.
