Jammu: Accusing the BJP of betraying the people of Jammu region, the JNPP today held a protest in Jammu and burned the effigy of Deputy Chief minister Dr Nirmal Singh and the Forest minister Bali Bhagat.
"The BJP has betrayed the people of Jammu region, they have sold their ideology for the sake of power", Chairman JKNPP (Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party) Harsh Dev Singh told reporters.
While demanding the resignation of the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and the Forest minister Bali Bhagat for their failure to fulfill the commitment of getting an appropriate order for setting up of AIIMS in Jammu, he said that the two ministers don't have any moral right to continue in the office.
The leaders and workers of the JKNPP burned the effigy of the Deputy Chief minister and Forest minister and demanded their resignation.
"We demand that these two leaders must resign immediately as they have lost moral ground to continue in the office", Singh said.
He said that the Deputy Chief minister failed to fulfill the commitment made with the people of Jammu.
"If the Deputy Chief minister has no power to fulfill its his written commitment, then he does not deserve to remain in power," he said.
The activists also blocked the Tawi bridge for sometime brining a halt to the traffic.
Meanwhile the activists of the congress also held a protest against the BJP-PDO coalition government for its failure to establish AIIMS in Jammu.
