Amarnath Yatra arrangements reviewed at Ramban

A high level meeting of various agencies was held on Sunday in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir to review the arrangements for the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra.

Jammu: A high level meeting of various agencies was held on Sunday in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir to review the arrangements for the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra.

"For smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra-2015, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban F A Shah Bukhari convened a high level meeting and reviewed the arrangements made for the ensuing Yatra," an official said.

He said that SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar along with other officers of different departments and security agencies were present in the meeting.

A threadbare discussion was held on security and other arrangement made for ensuing smooth Yatra, the official said.

The DDC directed Executive engineer Public works department to set up temporally toilets at langer sites and designated yatra accommodation sites.

All the officers especially those who are related with the arrangements for staying of yatris, health care, drinking water supply, power supply, sanitation and road maintenances were instructed to ensure that there was no difficulty for smooth passage of vehicles during the Yatra season.

The concerned Police officers were instructed to act promptly for avoiding any traffic jam in the area which may discomfort the pilgrims.

The DDC Ramban also reviewed security arrangements made en route NHA1.

The DDC directed the State Road Transport Corporation and Border Road Organisation to station their Recovery Vans and other required machineries at identified locations for timely action to meet any emergency.

Electric Department was also directed to arrange generator for uninterrupted power supply and Public Health Engineering authorities were instructed to arrange water tankers for round the clock services.
